Roleplaying Rules
From Kurenai Shi Wiki
General
1; Because Kurenaicons is a graphics community, it is required that all roleplayers submit at least one (1) item to the gallery each month. It can be an icon base, a signature base, texture packs, or even a fanart if you know nothing about graphic design. Failure to follow this rule means that your character accounts will be banned for the upcoming month. No exceptions.
2; You must have at least ten (10) posts for all your characters (of that board) before you can make another. Do it and you won't have a newly registered character account of yours banned/deleted. Again, no exceptions.
3; If your RP thread is inactive (no posts from anyone in one (1) week for storyline boards (KS, KS II, BN, SK, OD) and two (2) weeks for original boards) it will be labeled as hiatus or you can PM the RPG admin and ask her to lock it if you wish until you can come back to it or if you don't want to finish it.
4; Finish ALL of your threads by the end of the RP day (this excludes the Original board). Failure to do so will mean that you and anyone else involved in that thread are stuck in the said RP day till the topic is finished. You also have the choice of abandoning the thread. However, depending how far into the thread you've gotten, it just might get deleted. Decide wisely. See item 3.
5; You are allowed ten (10) topics per RP day. Group, Private, and Ask Threads, they count in your 10 topics total. If you make a thread, it counts. If you post in someone's thread, it counts. Oneshots/Twoshots do not, because it's only one ~ two posts and it's finished quickly. But overall, ten topics will help you not wear yourself out with worry and give you energy to finish.
6; Keep track of turns: 1 person, 2 person, 3 person, 4 person, 5 person so on and so on. This will keep things organized and less confusing if you have more than two people in a thread. If it's more than a day without a reply from a person, they may be skipped to let the next person post.
7; When starting a new topic, do not touch the bar that says 'Tags'. Leave that section blank unless you know exactly what you're doing and will make sure to capitalize all the letters that need to be capitalized and separate all the different tags with commas. If you're not certain how the system works, let the RPG admin do the work. It annoys her greatly when people tag unimportant things and nobody likes it when she's angry, so let us all try to keep her sane.
8; And finally, if you don't understand/are not sure about something, ask. Ask. Ask. Ask. Any of the admins - even ones that aren't in charge of the RPG section - will be more than glad to help. Just pose a question in the CBox or PM someone. We won't bite (your head off). In fact, if bribed with e-chocolate or e-moolah, the RPG admin will automatically label you as her new biffle. Use this weakness of hers and you won't regret it.
9; When you see from the Main Page that the rules are updated please read them. They're updated for a reason.
Storyline Boards
1; Make a new account and create your character.
2; Make a new account here at the Kurenai Shi Wiki.
3; Create a wiki profile page for your character (refer to this page - http://www.kurenaicons.net/index.php?topic=642 - for the template). This acts as an application in which the RPG admin will take a look at once you notify her that it's finished. Please bear in mind that the RPG admin has the power to remove your pages at all times.
4; Start a thread (in the appropriate boards, wherever you like) and then wait for replies.
5; Keep storylines and timelines (and put them in the topic) in mind when making threads.
[Group or Private or Ask] Your 'blah blah title' with the day in parenthesis, a hyphen and the the time of day (times of day acceptable; Early Morning, Morning, Mid-Morning, Late Morning, Noon, Afternoon, Mid-Afternoon, Late Afternoon, Evening, Late Evening, Night, Late Night, and Midnight)
So a topic title should look like... [Group] A Very Lovely Thread (Day XX - Late Morning)
Yes-Yes':
- You may have alternate universe (AU), character future (timeskip), character past (flashback), or one shot (one post; sorta like fanfiction) or two-shot (two posts; sorta like combined fan-fiction) threads.
- If you wish to write a oneshot/fic thread where you will be using another person's character, please ask for their permission first. Please try your best and don't be too OOC (at least make sure the other person is okay with it).
- If your thread is a oneshot/fic thread, please indicate this either in the title or in the beginning of the post so the other RPers won't reply to it. It also makes tagging easier for the RPG admin. If you've made a thread but it's one of those 'oneshot until someone replies' then please indicate that in the beginning of your post. Ex: [Oneshot] A Very Lovely Thread (Day XX - Late Morning)
- If you've finished a thread, please lock the thread and state that it's finished in the final post.
- If you wish to have a thread pulled out of hiatus (or semi-ended thread status) just send the RPG admin a message via CBox, PM, MSN or e-mail and nine times out of ten she will unlock the thread for you.
- The RPG admin will lock an inactive thread if she feel that the last post can be considered as an ending post (we will call these semi-ended threads). So say that you originally planned for more things to happen but never got to it because you just lost motivation for that thread altogether, but the last post on that thread can be seen as something conclusive so the RPG admin will lock that thread and consider it finished. However if you, as the creator/participant of that thread disagree, then tell the RPG admin and she'll unlock it (if that really matters to you).
- The RPG admin will lock inactive threads after a maximum of two weeks, but if any of the members feel that they can still post something and need more time, just send the RPG admin a message via CBox, PM, MSN or e-mail and she'll give a one week extension. A longer extension can be given depending on the situation (ex: if you're going on vacation for a month or two/you just need the time). Note: It'd be great if the one who creates the thread would close it themselves after two weeks have passed so I know that you don't need an extension for it.
No-No's:
- Try not to RP with yourself (not oneshots, like getting on separate accounts just to post to your own thread).
- Don't play with other people's NPCs.
- Your character can't be in two places at once (two Morning or Afternoon threads, etc.).
- Don't abuse characters unless you're prepared to have yours abused as well (an eye for an eye is our philosophy).
Original Threads
1; Set up your RP thread as such.
Storyline: Be at least a paragraph and descriptive if it's original.
Characters: A list of characters who will be playing in the thread. Character name with a picture that links to the name. Let us know who's playing who in parenthesis after the character name and then a brief description afterward.
2; After that, the RPG admin is not in charge anymore. The person who started the thread is. I guess you could call them the game master. But, if the game master is having problems or you're having problems with the game master, contact the RPG admin and let her know your problem. Maybe things can be worked out that way.
